About Us
The ARON Research Foundation ETS was established in July 2025 by a dedicated group of researchers from the ARON Project. This international initiative was launched in November 2021, stemming from the vision of Dr. Matteo Santoni (Medical Oncologist at AST Macerata) and Dr. Francesco Massari (Medical Oncologist at Policlinico Sant’Orsola-Malpighi in Bologna). Their goal was to create a global network of specialists to facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge regarding immunotherapy and emerging treatments for patients with renal, prostate, and bladder cancers. We envisioned a truly collaborative global platform where every physician, biologist, or nurse could propose and lead their own research projects, turning collective knowledge into life-saving progress.
Specifically, the ARON Project was established to build a global network with the goal of conducting research projects on genitourinary cancers, strengthening interaction among colleagues worldwide, analyzing real-world data on the use of innovative therapies, promoting translational research, and supporting tools to improve global access to care. Since 2021, the ARON Project has involved over 400 clinicians from across the globe, leading to the creation of the ARON Research Foundation ETS in 2025.
The Project is organized into various sections dedicated to specific pathologies, translational laboratory studies, meta-analyses, the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning methods, the writing of systematic reviews, and pharmacoeconomic studies.

The Symbol of a Global Network
The logo of the ARON Research Foundation ETS is a tribute to scientific research. It merges three core pillars into a single graphic mark: knowledge, research, and sharing.
The open book is the universal symbol of learning and the transmission of knowledge. Its symmetrical pages express openness, balance, and the rigorous standards of scientific inquiry.
Emerging from the heart of the book is a DNA strand, reimagined as an ascending helix. This represents the vital bridge between the science of life and medical research—the very core of our Foundation’s work.
